Ryan played under Legends founder, Andy Barney, on the 79/80 KC Legends team until playing Division 2 college soccer for St. Joseph's College. His 79/80 Legends team won multiple regional and national indoor championships, participated in the national title game outdoor and won several of the biggest tournament throughout the country during that time.
Following college, he started a family and began bringing the Legends philosophy to developing kids in the Lee's Summit recreational league, where he was honored with the "Coach of the Year" award in 2016. Many of the kids from his recreational teams, still play for him today. Ryan has a great ability to make all of the kids feel comfortable and builds their confidence, while still having fun.
“I want the kids to know that it's okay to do something that is "different" than what the norm might be. By being their biggest cheerleader and support on the sideline, and seeing those players have a ‘go for it’ mentality is one of the greatest rewards for me as a coach. I've enjoyed the opportunity to pass along my experience in the club that was such a large part of my life to my children and now several others in the Lee's Summit area.” - Ryan Kasper
